ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
According to National Highway Transportation Safety Administration studies, vehicles with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) experience 35% fewer single-vehicle accidents and 30% fewer single-vehicle accident fatalities.

The Azera is equipped with ESC as a standard feature. Electronic Stability Control determines the vehicle's intended path, using sophisticated electronic sensors. If the vehicle is out of the driver's control, it can selectively brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power to help return the vehicle to the intended path.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM
- Standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) helps preserve steering control in emergency braking situations. The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) will rapidly pulse the brakes of the wheel (or wheels) that begin to lock up. This helps the driver to maintain steering control while braking.

ACTIVE FRONT HEAD RESTRAINTS

- Active front head restraints offer extra protection against whiplash in rear-end collisions

- LATCH child seat tether anchors. LATCH anchors and tethers help simplify the proper installation of compatible child-restraint seats. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates suggest that before LATCH was mandated, up to 80% of all child-restraint seats were improperly installed.

- 3-point seatbelts for all seating positions

- Automatic seatbelt pretensioners and force limiters.

AUTOMATIC SEAT PRETENSIONERS

- Azera's front automatic seatbelt pretensioners tighten the driver's and front passenger's shoulder belts during a frontal impact crash. This reduces the occupants' forward movement and helps position them for the optimal effectiveness of the airbags. Front seatbelt pretensioners automatically "cinch up" to reduce slack and help to optimally position the occupant in case of airbag deployment. Force limiters are designed to "give" a little, to help reduce peak belt loads to the occupant's torso in certain high-impact frontal collisions.

AIRBAGS
- 2 advanced front airbags. The advanced front airbag system automatically determines if and with what level of power the driver and/or the passenger front airbags will inflate, based on occupant weight and height as well as impact.

- 2 front seat-mounted side-impact airbags

- 2 roof-mounted side-curtain airbags

- According to research by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the combination of front and side-impact airbags can reduce fatalities by up to 45%*. On deployment, these airbags help prevent side-impact injuries to the head and upper body.
